With its consistent commitment to resource-saving and intelligent energy solutions for a climate-friendly future, SÜBA AG has been one of Austria's pioneers in sustainable construction for years. Numerous awards and a forward-looking sustainability strategy underpin this pioneering role.

SÜBA AG has been one of the country's top real estate developers for 41 years. It was recognised early on, that the real estate industry is responsible for around 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, so a rethink must take place and sustainability and energy efficiency must be anchored as standards in the industry. Recently, this pioneering work was also honoured by the ÖGNI: SÜBA AG was the first property developer in Austria to be verified as EU taxonomy compliant for the Leopoldauer Straße 131 project in Vienna.

Added value for people, the environment and the economy
SÜBA AG's core business is in the areas of planning, construction and sales of residential and commercial real estate as well as neighbourhood development. In all its projects, the focus is on reducing fossil fuels and using sustainable technologies such as geothermal energy and photovoltaics, and is consistently implemented with a view to the entire life cycle. "All our projects should generate triple added value - for people, the environment and the economy. With our green building strategy, we are setting an example for environmentally conscious construction," says Heinz Fletzberger, CEO of SÜBA AG. The economic viability of the projects is ensured in the long term through low-maintenance technologies, resource-saving construction methods and consistently low operating costs, ensuring a stable value investment.

Best practice in an urban context: Plus-Energy-Quarter
SÜBA AG is setting a real milestone for climate-friendly construction with PEQ21 at Pilzgasse 33 in Vienna-Floridsdorf. Austria's first urban plus-energy quarter is being built there on 34,000m² of gross floor space. With a highly efficient building envelope, component activation via heat pumps, a sophisticated ventilation concept, green roofs, rainwater harvesting, an earth probe field and around 4,000 photovoltaic modules, the area will in future generate more green energy than it consumes. Even before the official start of construction, PEQ21 was awarded the ÖGUT Environmental Prize in the category "Innovation and City" for innovative urban development, proving that plus-energy districts in an urban context are not only possible, but groundbreaking.
